my favorite (free!) fonts

i've seen a few of these lists floating around online, so i thought i would share my personal favorites.  most of these can be download from myfonts.com (which is not a free font site), but here's a tip: just because a font has a price tag doesn't mean it doesn't have one version that is free.  for example, i loved the florence font but didn't love the $199 price for the collection.  however, i was thrilled to discover that the "regular" version was free!  that holds true for many of the fonts i have listed.
